Why RootParks for RWB Parks & Rec

Romeo, Washington and Bruce bring together aquatics, Dancer’s Image, youth activities, senior programs and memorable trips. RootParks gives that variety a welcoming front door, with clear program details and a connected staff workspace.

A better day, on both sides of the counter

Less back-and-forth. More community.

Easier for residents

A parent finding swim lessons and a grandparent planning a day trip should both be able to find the right offering without piecing together a brochure and registration instructions.

Connected for staff

Keep the catalog, section choices, resident pricing, rosters and rental requests connected. Give coordinators a clearer path from a resident question to the relevant record.

Clearer for directors

Walk through real department tasks, agree the rollout and know the software and payment costs before committing. This is a shared platform, not another custom site to maintain alone.

Make it concrete

Take three short walkthroughs.

Explore the public experience, then review the corresponding staff record with normal admin access.

1. Find a program

Search the catalog, review the actual dates, eligibility and pricing, then follow the demonstration registration journey. The demo is not the department’s official registration service.

2. Explore a community space

Review a rental’s details and available request or booking options. Department policy and the specific space determine whether a request needs staff approval.

3. See the staff side

Authorized staff can sign in to review the program, registrations and booking decisions in their department workspace. Public visitors cannot access participant records or admin tools.

Predictable technology licensing

An annual software fee. Separate payment costs.

Pilot-cohort license offers, billed annually. Your proposal confirms support, implementation, taxes and additional costs.

A practical switch

Start small. Know what changes.

A guided pilot is a way to prove fit without pretending migration and staff adoption happen automatically.

Bring your existing work

Review the imported catalog and website content together. Confirm dates, prices, policies and the source of truth before publishing official registrations. Keep unclear source information out of unrestricted signups.

Walk through one complete workflow

Choose a program and a rental. Practice the resident steps and corresponding staff tasks, then agree training, ownership and a wider rollout. We do not promise a fixed migration time without reviewing the data.

Keep finance in the conversation

Residents pay the department price plus a disclosed payment fee. The lower-monthly-cost option uses Root’s standard 6/6: $6 on payments up to $150, or 6% above $150. Processing comes out of that fee, not on top again. The higher-license option removes Root’s transaction markup, not processing: at a standard domestic-card estimate of 2.9% + $0.30, a $100 program totals about $103.30 so the department receives $100. Integrated payments currently use Stripe Connect. Actual rates, Connect costs, taxes, refunds and fee eligibility are confirmed before activation. Another municipal processor is not a supported plug-in today.

An honest demonstration

This is an unofficial RootParks preview, not a department endorsement or live municipal service. It uses demonstration records and is not a live-payment checkout. Tenant setup and a tested operational pilot are distinct from the shared platform’s capabilities.

Your department. Your next step.

Let’s walk through RWB Parks & Rec together.

Bring the director, a coordinator and your finance questions. We’ll look at the resident experience, the staff workflow and a clearly scoped pilot.
